White Ribbon Day 25/11/2008

Riverland Domestic Violence Action Group (RDVAG) members engaged with the local community in Berri on White Ribbon Day by organising a display of a battered motor vehicle, equating this with the impact you can see as opposed to the hidden impact of domestic violence. This display attracted a wide variety of people, some of whom engaged with our members and purchased white ribbons and wristbands, while also enjoying a sausage sizzle for lunch. There was information available regarding what local services can be accessed for assistance and our display received a high level of attention from the local media outlets, further raising awareness and sending a clear message as to the negative impact of violence against women & children.

A great effort by all, well done.
